A Kind Florist

A Kind Florist is a multidisciplinary floral practice based in New York, inspired by the ancient craft of Japanese Chabana floral arrangement and the humble yet wondrous simplicity of nature.

A Kind Mission

We should arrange flowers as naturally as they grow in the field.’ - Sen No Rikyu

Committed to the founding mission of celebrating the gifts of nature and giving back to nature as a way to nurture a harmonious and sustainable way of being, A Kind Florist uses only materials which are completely recyclable, biodegradable or reusable. A dollar from every Kind Arrangement purchased is donated towards a non-profit cause committed to environmental preservation such as The Climate Reality Project.

A Kind Packaging

A Kind Florist is committed to the ban of single use glassware and plastic in its practice.

An arrangement in a pristine glass vase wrapped in cellophane can be a beautiful gesture, but have you ever paused to consider the environmental cost of the packaging? The production of glass is CO2 emission intensive and while some categories of glass can be recyclable, glass products that reach landfill will not decompose over time.

According to the UNEP, plastic packaging accounts for nearly half of all plastic waste globally, and much of it is thrown away within just a few minutes of its first use. When discarded in landfills or in the environment, plastic can take up to a thousand years to decompose.

A Kind Florist is driven by the goal of exploring beautiful yet creative solutions to floral presentation that is recyclable and sustainable, which in turn can fuel the creation of unexpected and dynamic arrangements that humbly celebrate the wonder of nature over time.
